BMS MineRoad-Rapid

Rapid-setting, cementitious roadway repair mortar engineered for underground mining & tunnelling environments.

Technical Properties

Results are periodically verified externally by NATA-accredited laboratories.

Technical Data

BMS MineRoad-Rapid undergoes regular in-house quality control of strength and setting times in accordance with typical return-to-service targets.

Note: These values are typical and subject to change based on manufacturing conditions. Performance-based properties, such as compressive strength and set times, are highly dependent on amount of mix water, ambient and water temperature, substrate conditions, base preparation, etc.

Product Description

BMS MineRoad-Rapid is a rapid-setting, cementitious roadway repair mortar engineered for underground mining and tunnelling environments. Purpose-built for quick return-to-service in wet or water-nuisance areas and where conventional concrete mixing equipment is unavailable or impractical.

Designed as a dry-blend to absorb standing water and achieve rapid early strength with little to no mixing, BMS MineRoad-Rapid can be used to reinstate potholes and mudholes, restore traction for foot, wheeled, and tracked traffic, and reduce operational delays.

Features & Benefits
  • Rapid Set & Early Strength: Minimum operational downtime and quick traffic reinstatement.
  • Water-Tolerant Placement: Pour directly into standing water; typically only light agitation needed.
  • High Flow or Trowel-Finishable: Consistency to suit pothole and mudhole infilling and surface profiling.
  • Simple Application: No batching plant required.
Typical Applications
  • • Rehabilitation of underground mine roadways, travel-ways, and sump approaches.
  • • Filling potholes, rills, depressions, and persistent wet/slippery areas (“mudholes”).
  • • Spot-level corrections at intersections, boot-wash areas, and equipment parks.
Packaging
  • • Typically, 1.0 and 1.2 tonne bulk bags.
    • • Additional packaging options are available on request.
    • • All orders include Proof of Dispatch (POD) documentation with batch identification numbers and manufacturing dates for traceability.
Shelf-Life & Storage Conditions

Shelf-Life: Best used within 6 months from the date of manufacture when stored as recommended. Product may be fit for purpose beyond 6 months, subject to assessment of storage conditions and verification testing of mortar properties.

Storage Conditions: Store unopened and undamaged packages in a cool, dry environment below 30°C. Shelf-life may decrease if exposed to high humidity, extreme temperatures, or external weather conditions.

Safety Information
  • • Cement dust is an irritant—avoid inhalation or skin/eye contact.
    • • Wear protective gloves, clothing, eye and face protection.
    • • Ensure adequate ventilation during mixing and application.
    • • In case of contact with the eyes, rinse with running water for 15 mins and remove contaminated clothing.
    • • Always consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) prior to handling or use.
    • • In an emergency, contact any Poisons Information Centre (Phone: 13 11 26 within Australia).
    • • For detailed safety information, refer to the latest SDS available at www.bmscement.com.
