BMS TD-Bolt
Ready-to-use dry powder formulated as a high-strength, thixotropic cementitious anchoring grout for “top-down” grouting of cable bolts and long tendons in underground mining applications.
Technical Properties
Technical Data
BMS TD-Bolt undergoes regular in-house and periodic third-party quality control testing.
Note: The stated UCS values are typical of in-house testing conducted on 50 mm cubes mixed using Toowoomba Regional Council potable water, cast in steel moulds, and submerged-cured at 23°C. Performance-based properties, such as strength, working time, pumpability, etc, are highly-dependent on w:s ratios, mixer and pump type, addition of admixtures, and end-user applications and requirements. [1] Working time is defined as the total time available to mix, pump/apply, and clean out the mixing equipment (mixing bowl). [2] Performance achieved using a Clark Model M150 grout pump with 4 × 20 m lengths of 25 mm internal diameter air/water hose, with 60–70 psi air supply.
| Property | Typical Value | Test Method/Standard |
|---|---|---|
| 1-Day UCS [6L per 20kg Bag] | 50 MPa | N/A |
| 7-Day UCS [6L per 20kg Bag] | 70 MPa | N/A |
| 28-Day UCS [6L per 20kg Bag] | 90 MPa | N/A |
| Fresh Wet Density [6L per 20kg Bag] | 2040 kg/m3 | N/A |
| 1-Day UCS [7L per 20kg Bag] | 40 MPa | N/A |
| 7-Day UCS [7L per 20kg Bag] | 60 MPa | N/A |
| 28-Day UCS [7L per 20kg Bag] | 80 MPa | N/A |
| Fresh Wet Density [7L per 20kg Bag] | 2000 kg/m3 | N/A |
| Working Time [1] | 120 mins | N/A |
| Pumping Distance [2] | Tested up to 80 m | N/A |
BMS TD-Bolt is a ready-to-use dry powder formulated as a high-strength, thixotropic cementitious anchoring grout for top-down grouting of cable bolts and long tendons in underground mining applications.
Engineered for pumpability, high early strength, and non-shrink/expansive annulus fill, BMS TD-Bolt ensures consistent annulus fill and strong bonding for dependable ground support and performance in both competent rock and poor, fractured or broken ground conditions.
- • High Early Strength: Minimises the risk of strata separation and/or slippage during early curing.
- • Thixotropic: Supports top-down grouting and performance in competent and poor ground conditions alike.
- • Excellent Pumpability: Designed to pump over long distances to improve underground installation workflows.
- • Safe: Non-toxic and non-flammable.
- • Top-down grouting of cable bolts and long tendons in underground coal and hard rock mines.
- • Stabilisation of roof strata in development headings and production panels, particularly where early support capacity is desirable.
- • Typically, 20 kg paper bags.
- • Additional packaging options are available on request.
- • All orders include Proof of Dispatch (POD) documentation with batch identification numbers and manufacturing dates for traceability.
Shelf-Life: Best used within 6 months from the date of manufacture when stored as recommended. Product may remain fit for purpose beyond 6 months, subject to assessment of storage conditions and verification testing of mortar properties.
Storage Conditions: Store unopened and undamaged packages in a cool, dry environment below 30°C. Shelf-life may decrease if exposed to high humidity, extreme temperatures, or external weather conditions.
- • Cement dust is an irritant—avoid inhalation or skin/eye contact.
- • Wear protective gloves, clothing, eye and face protection.
- • Ensure adequate ventilation during mixing and application.
- • In case of contact with the eyes, rinse with running water for 15 mins and remove contaminated clothing.
- • Always consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) prior to handling or use.
- • In an emergency, contact any Poisons Information Centre (Phone: 13 11 26 within Australia).
- • For detailed safety information, refer to the latest SDS available at www.bmscement.com.
